Ondine Solutions

Timeline

From your reply to the name in your account, usually inside a week.

Each step is labelled by when it happens rather than by a number, because what you want to know is how long it takes. Some registrars are quicker than others; nothing here asks you to hurry.

Today

You reply or write in

A line is enough: the name, and whether you would like the figure or have a question first.

Within a working day

Lena answers

One figure for the name, who holds it now, and what the transfer will involve at your registrar.

The day you agree

Escrow is opened

A licensed escrow company sets up the deal at the agreed figure, and you pay escrow directly, by wire or whatever else it accepts.

Next working day after funds

The name moves

After escrow reports your money received, the name is moved into your registrar account, or you get the transfer code if that is how your registrar does it.

When it shows in your account

You confirm, escrow pays out

You tell escrow the name has arrived. Only then is the seller paid. The name is yours to point wherever you like.

The questions people ask at this point

  • Is there an escrow fee for me?No, Ondine Solutions covers it. The figure you agree is the figure you pay.
  • Do I need a new registrar account? No. The name is delivered to the registrar you already use, as long as it handles .com names, which nearly all do.
  • What if the transfer stalls?Your money stays with escrow until the name arrives. If it cannot be delivered, escrow returns your payment.
  • Is there anything to sign?Escrow's own terms, accepted online when you pay. No separate contract from us, no deck, no meeting.
  • Can the figure change? Not upward. Once Lena has quoted a figure for a name, we do not raise it for you.
